SOS@St Barnabas February 2nd 2013

SOS is happening again on Saturday 2nd February
The theme is what happened after the nativity.
We have lots of crafts and lots of lovely hot food – no need to cook when you get home!!
Please come and join us at Thatcham Park school. You can park in the car park or on the street but not the playground as there is not much room on there now!!
If you’ve not come before, please give feel very welcome to join us – it’s Church, but not as you know it!

ABC –  the Start of a New Year!

ABC is now back in action! For even more Play, Chat, Crafts, Singing, Refreshments, Stories, Friends and FUN!
If you’ve not come before, please do consider joining us, this is a lively and welcoming Toddler Group, and is a great way to meet other local parents & carers too…
We meet every Wednesday 10.30-12.00 am, including holidays! The cost is FREE!

What a super Christingle Service!

Many thanks to Marion, Pat, Brenda and Mark for a super Christingle service at St Mary’s on 9th December. Pat’s talk, in the dark, of her experience, a few years ago of being on Brownie Camp and needing to get out of the tent in the middle of the night to get to the bathroom was very entertaining and seemed to keep even the youngest members of the congregation enthralled; her appreciation of the power of a torch to light the world was a great way of introducing and explaining …

Nativity Sheep Trail

If you have been in and around church recently, you may have noticed some cuddly sheep attending!
These little sheep will play a central role in a nativity sheep trail around Thatcham, in conjunction with St Mary’s, St Barnabas and Thatcham Town Council.  The launch date of the trail will be at the Thatcham Christmas lights and will run for a week. Children and their families will be encouraged to take part in the nativity story, by being the shepherds looking for their lost sheep in the shops. Once they have …

Thatcham Festival of Arts & Leisure

Thatcham Festival of Arts and Leisure Oct 13th – 21st. Craft day in church on Saturday October 13th. Once again we shall welcome some people who might not visit their Parish Church and this gives us an excellent opportunity to engage with the local community. Volunteers needed to welcome visitors and/or serve refreshments – please sign the lists at the back of the church or contact Judith 867569. Donations are also welcome for the Home Produce stall (proceeds to church funds).

SOS is happening again on Saturday the
The theme is belonging to God’s family.
We have lots of crafts and lots of lovely hot food – no need to cook when you get home!!
Please come and join us and see the newly extended Thatcham Park school. The entrance door has moved slightly so look out for the signs.
Please also park in the car park or on the street not the playground as there is not much room on there now!!
