We are hosting a 5 week Lent Course leading up to Easter, using materials from David Winter’s ‘Glimpses of God’.
Details of the course can be found here…
Every year, many people undertake these short Lent Programs. They are a great way to meet other people within the church, to discuss interesting ideas, to prepare for Easter, and to deepen and enrich your faith journey.

God works more slowly than we sometimes imagine. This Christmas time in Church we will remember the creation of the world from its very beginning – with the garden, needing so much work to keep it beautiful. And people, who gave every living thing its name – and naming things well carries the power of love. It has taken us a long time to get to grips with loving this beautiful world, and we’ve made some huge mistakes along the way.

Hi, for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jim and Hilary’s daughter and I used to sing in the choir at St Mary’s.

A Meditation for Advent
I think I will decline your invitation to come to you at Christmas time this year.
You never really want me and it’s boring.
You don’t invite me any other time.
The menu’s unambitious and I hate it.
I can’t abide the presents and the games.
I don’t know anyone who will enjoy it.
I think I should, politely tell you so.
Thank you for wasting postage on the letter… but
No I won’t be coming at Christmas time this year.
Refrain
No I won’t be coming at Christmas time this year.
The way you treat me makes …

‘We believe in Life before Death’ was a much loved Christian Aid strapline. Do you believe it?
‘We believe in Life before Death’ was a much loved Christian Aid strapline. Do you believe it?
Why ask the question?
Because many Christians will answer ‘No’. Many understand Christianity in terms of getting to heaven when we die and life being mostly about getting saved, and getting others saved, to populate heaven after death. That why it’s life after and not before death that is often the focus.
Christian Aid took …
