Directions

From Reading, or M4 Junction 12, A4 (Theale) east of Thatcham:-

Take the A4 westwards towards Thatcham. You will pass through Woolhampton (30 mph speed limit). There are then 3 roundabouts before you pass by a Texaco filling station on the right, and a school (Francis Baily Primary) on the left. There is then a pedestrian crossing, before continuing straight ahead through two sets of traffic lights (signposted Upper Bucklebury and Hermitage). Go straight ahead at the next set of lights (junction of A4 with The Moors). At the next set of traffic lights (junction with The Broadway) turn left into The Broadway. Follow the road to the end of the grassed open space, and then turn right. St Mary's Church is directly in front of you. Follow the road round in front of the Church, and you will find parking along the roadside.

From Oxford, or M4 Junction 13, A34 (Chieveley):-

Take A34 southbound towards Newbury and Thatcham. Shortly after M4 junction and Chieveley services take left hand lane signposted Thatcham and Newbury, A339. After a roundabout (Vodafone HQ) there are more traffic lights. Take the second exit from this next roundabout (signposted A4 Thatcham). Follow this road past LIDL (to the right) and B & Q. Go straight ahead at the next set of lights (junction with Hambridge Lane and Fir Tree Lane). At the next set of lights, take the right hand lane and bear right onto Lower Way. Continue down Lower Way until reaching a roundabout. Take the first exit from the roundabout (straight ahead), this is Church Gate. After passing the turning on the left for Green Lane, there is parking along the roadside, and St Mary's is on the left.

From Winchester, A34:-

Take the A34 northwards towards Oxford and Newbury. Leave the A34 at the Tot Hill Services, B4640. Follow signs for Newbury through Newtown Common. At roundabout with A339 take 1st exit (signposted Newbury). Go straight ahead at next roundabout (second exit), and down a hill. Newbury Retail Park is on the right. Go straight ahead at next roundabout (junction with St John's Road). Go straight ahead at the next roundabout (Sainsbury's is to the right). Follow signs for A4, Thatcham at next roundabout. This is the fourth exit. The A339 (old A34) goes straight ahead over a flyover - the lanes for the A4 are to the left. Follow the A4 past LIDL (to the right) and B & Q. Go straight ahead at the next set of lights (junction with Hambridge Lane and Fir Tree Lane). At the next set of lights, take the right hand lane and bear right onto Lower Way. Continue down Lower Way until reaching a roundabout. Take the first exit from the roundabout (straight ahead), this is Church Gate. After passing the turning on the left for Green Lane, there is parking along the roadside, and St Mary's is on the left.

From Basingstoke, Kingsclere or Headley, A339:-

Take A339 northwards towards Newbury. After passing through the village of Headley, take the 2nd exit at the next roundabout (signposted Aldermaston, Thatcham and Brimpton) onto Thornford Road. Follow this road until you reach the end at a t-junction. Turn left onto Crookham Common Road, and keep on this road over the level crossing at Thatcham Station. Take the first exit from the roundabout (ignoring the Industrial Park and Pub entrances) on to Station Road. Keep following this road, including going straight on at two mini roundabouts, until reaching a roundabout junction with The Moors. Take the second exit (right turn), and then at the next roundabout take the first exit (left turn). Continue for 100 yards or so and then at the next roundabout take the second exit into The Broadway. Parking is available here or along Church Gate.

From Hungerford, Kintbury, A4 west of Thatcham.

Continue following the A4 past the A34 Newbury bypass, and roundabout with B4494 until reaching the Robin Hood Roundabout, junction with A339, (old A34). Take the 2rd exit onto London Road - A4 (signposted Thatcham). Follow this road past LIDL (to the right) and B & Q. Go straight ahead at the next set of lights (junction with Hambridge Lane and Fir Tree Lane). At the next set of lights, take the right hand lane and bear right onto Lower Way. Continue down Lower Way until reaching a roundabout. Take the first exit from the roundabout (straight ahead), this is Church Gate. After passing the turning on the left for Green Lane, there is parking along the roadside, and St Mary's is on the left.

Facilities

St Mary's Church is accessible to wheelchair users via a ramp at the front entrance.

The church is fitted with an induction loop system.

Toilets are found at the back of the church, next to the kitchen in the hall (meeting room) area.

Books and toys for younger children are found in the childrens' area.

Refreshments are available in the church hall (meeting room) after some services.

The Parish Office is situated on the north side of the church.

Parking

There is a very limited amount of car parking space available close to the church entrance, next to the tower. It is usually requested that these spaces are only used by those with mobility difficulties. Access to this area is through the double church gates close to the eastern entrance on Church Gate (nearest The Broadway).

Usually parking is available on Sundays along Church Gate. This is restricted on weekdays.

During the week, or on busy days, it may be necessary to use either of the Public Car Parks.
