Bell Ringing at St. Mary’s Church
There is a long tradition of both tower bell ringing and hand‑bell ringing at St. Mary’s Church. Adults and children from the age of 12 can learn the art of bell ringing and hand‑bell ringing.
If you would like further information about bell ringing or the Church Bells then please contact Tony Smith through the Parish Office.
St. Mary’s is well known for its peal of ten bells that are rung for Sunday Services and some weddings. Methods are rung according to the skill of the group assembled. Our friendly group of ringers meets to practice every Tuesday at 7:30pm throughout the year.
The Barfield Hand‑Bell Ringers
Barfield Hand‑bell Ringers were early members of The Hand‑bell Ringers of Great Britain. In accordance with the objectives of this registered charity, they seek to cultivate the art of tune ringing on hand‑bells. The group practices on Monday evenings and performs at concerts, festivals and other occasions throughout the year.
